Explore Recaps of Local Tech Events

What does it take to show up to a tech meetup with an idea that doesn't exist yet, and have the room meet you there?

At Code & Share, Code Connector's monthly virtual meetup, four Memphis builders navigated that exact tension. Each one started with the problem they lived before showing the tool they built or imagined building.

  • Dana Mansolillo, a neurodiverse productivity app designer

  • John Hall, an agent infrastructure builder

  • Kevin Kawchak, an AI-assisted cancer researcher

  • JC Smiley, founder of Chapters, a cardiac trauma recovery platform.

The through-line wasn't AI. It wasn't tools. It was a practice. Where builders explain the wound before the solution, and where an unfinished idea carries as much weight as a shipped product.

What emerged was what Memphis builders are calling the Vulnerable Tech Talk: where personal origin isn't backstory, it's the technical brief. Where the community's response to unfinished work reveals more about ecosystem health than any demo night could.
