Building Community & Elevating Tech: My First BDPA Memphis Quarterly Meeting

An inspiring conversation on empowerment, networking, and giving back to the tech community.

I’m excited to share that I just attended my first official bdpamemphis quarterly meeting, and it was an amazing experience!

The conversation centered around community building and tech, led by Chapter President Naim Hakeem and Vice-President Jacqueline Gladness, who showcased incredible upcoming programs for kids, college students, and working professionals. The focus? 𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲, 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐧𝐞𝐭𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐩𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐬𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬.

One of the most impactful moments was when each attendee was asked: “𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐁𝐃𝐏𝐀?” The collective response was inspiring—so many of us are here to serve the community and help others break into the tech industry.

One of the side conversations was on insights on AI. I walked away with new knowledge about topics like:
🤖 What is a Generative AI Engineer?
🤖 What is Rags AI?
🤖 What is Agentive AI?

I’m already looking forward to future events and want to extend the invitation to every tech professional in the Memphis area. Let’s grow together!
