GiveCamp Memphis is a weekend-long gathering of professional web developers, graphic designers, social media strategists, digital marketers, and data scientists donating their time to nonprofit organizations.

The event is entirely volunteer-driven. It’s a great opportunity for people to work together, develop new friendships, and do something important for the community. We’re looking for volunteers, both technical and non-technical, to help us do it.

Lawrence Lockhart

Lawrence Lockhart Jr serves as an inspiring example for those entering the tech field without a formal degree. His journey is a captivating narrative of resilience, determination, and a heartfelt commitment to inspiring others in the tech field. After dropping out of MIT, he found himself working at Dairy Queen to support his family. Undeterred by setbacks, Lawrence eventually forged an impressive path as a Web Developer at Fred's, a Full-stack Java Developer at FedEx, and now shines as a Developer Advocate for Vaadin.

Lawrence is deeply committed to teaching and mentorship in the tech community. As a Brilliant Black Minds community ambassador, he advocates for diversity and inclusion. He is an advisor at Code Connector, helping connect learners with resources. His previous support for coding education initiatives included:
